“Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant? I’m halfway through my fish burger and I realize: Oh my God…. I could be eating a slow learner.” – Lynda Montgomery
Oh my goodness. I feel like I have been on a blogging hiatus. I was off last week for my “reading week” more commonly known thanks to the US as “spring break”. I guess Canada just wants to sound so.. scholarly? I did absolutely nothing all week. Well, thats not true. I watched some movies, went out for lunch twice, knit one sock… and well, that was it. BUT I am back!!!
I was sitting here not too long ago as Jamie was studying away – right, I was on a hiatus.. Jamie is taking an insurance broker course! – while he was doing that I was sitting here, kind of bored, so of course I wanted something to snack on. I got a cookie and tore it apart and began to eat it. Then it hit me.. somethings which I eat, I eat them very weirdly..
1) I will not mix food. Yes food can touch as long as there are no sauces touching something else. Who wants coleslaw dressing on their asparagus? EW. What I mean though – visualize this with me. Your plate is a clock – I will start at 12:00, finish 12:00 and move clockwise without eating anything else until their designated time. I cannot eat a little of this and a little of that. All of everything and then move on. However, if “12:00” is something which is my least favourite, I will turn my plate to ensure that it will be eaten last.
2) Excess bread. If I am eating a hotdog or a hamburger, or a sandwich and there is access bread, I have to pull it off. I don’t even know I am doing it. You know if you bite into something you get the imprint of your mouth? the tops of the “U” (so to speak) are generally just bread. I will pull it off and put it on my plate and not eat it.
3) Sausage. If it is anything but honey garlic I will cut it in half long ways, and then in half again. I then slice is “short ways” and inspect each little bite. I hate the “seeds” and I cannot stand the thought of eating them.
Dinner is ready, so I better go eat weird..
what are your weird eating habits?
