So This Is What Has Become of My Life.

“So open up your morning light, and say a little prayer for I. You know that if we are to stay alive, then see the love in every eye.” – Paula Cole “I don’t want to wait”

This one single photo can summarize up what my life has come to in the past week.

IMG_0001Yes…. That would be Dawson Leery.

I have watched Dawson’s Creek on and off, when it was on TV Saturday mornings. Always loved it, but was never committed to actually watching it from start to finish… Until last week.

Last week I downloaded the first few seasons, and well, in 1 week I am on episode 11 of season 3… Pathetic much? Don’t worry though, I am still going to class. So it amazes me how I have managed to come this far.

I have to keep busy while I am sitting here for hours watching, so I have started knitting again.. By again, I mean too much. My knitting injury strained muscle began acting up again, and on Monday my fingers we cramped… Why do I do this to myself?

There really isn’t that much more to say in regards to my absence – well, other than I think I have a peculiar infatuation with Pacey Witter… I think I am supposed to be in love with Dawson. NO way, Pacey all the way.

I have missed everyone! What have you been doing?

    • Thank you so much! I was one of those kids who was always “bored”, so what happened? I was taught to knit/crochet/embroider etc…. If you wanted to learn I would suggest starting with a small project like a dishcloth or a scarf. It is generally incredibly basic and it knits up fast.. I am sure there are some fantastic videos on YouTube demonstrating!

    • Yay! I am glad I am not the only one! Maybe its because he has better hair, and has this deep emptiness and sadness hidden behind sarcasm and humor? And he is genuinely a great guy…. Dear God, This is a character…

  1. I watched Dawson’s Creek from beginning to end pretty recently and was mildly obsessed with it (not quite at your level, but I was watching way too many episodes every day). I was constantly yelling at Dawson – he really annoyed me to no end. But I was still sucked in. This is not a bad way to spend your days haha.

P.S. My boyfriend calls my grandmother “Grams” because of this show.

  2. When it was on the air, Dawson’s Creek was a bit before my time and I feel like I missed out on a cultural touchstone! Someday, I’m going to have to sit down and watch it straight through. It looks like something I’d love, honestly 🙂

    • Funny you say that! It was definitely before my time also. It came out in 1998, I was 6… It’s funny watching it now. There was one episode where the struggled to get ahold of someone (no cell phones).. They rent VHS tapes.. 90s clothes were awful. It made me a little sad whole watching, there are no good shows like this on any more.

  3. I did that with 90210 (the new one, not the old one; like I would have missed a single episode of the original!), Weeds, Gossip Girl, Sons of Anarchy (almost missed all of season 5 due to communication errors), and other various and sundry sagas. I feel your pain (only I cannot knit very well, so I just lounge). Welcome back (for a spell).

    • It’s bad isn’t it? I have done it in the past with “the oc”, “the sopranos”, “alias”, “desperate housewives”, “parenthood” and “breaking bad”… I think the main issue is that I do not watch tv, so before I know it 6 seasons are in and I just learn about them! haha

  4. We’ve done that with Weeds, Psyche, The Dead Zone (at least until we got busy and forgot about it), Dead Like Me, Angel, Alias, and a number of other things… At least it’s not like what I did while I was pregnant…that was My Fair Wedding and some other wedding show…now THAT was scary…

Oh, and yay for knitting! I haven’t done any knitting in ages…
